and a little bit about me too!

Sunday 25 January 2009

Well you could try a little bit harder...

I have had a constant companion whilst battling my new addiction. (Furry and spotty with a meow that sounds like MA OW)

I am addicted to the evil that is crocheting..

I lay in bed thinking about it, wondering how my fingers will do what I want them to do...

But I'm getting a bit better.... I'm thinking of carrying on with my sort of circle to make a cushion. May be with some buttons and a vintage bit of fabric on the back...

Then I'm going to try a proper Granny Square..I will do it!

Well done you, stick at it. I started to crochet some of my squares together this afternoon. Probably would be easier if they didn't vary in size but hey not bad for the first attempt.
Take care.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
Keep up with the crochet, it will get easier LOL
(BTW how ever does anyone manage to crochet a circle without frilly edges??? Everytime I try, that's all I get. Frilly edges *tut*)

Your crochet is looking good. My grandmother has some pot holders that are round and crocheted. Very cute. I like your cushion idea with buttons. Can't wait to see!

Have you seen 'Cocoa and Blankets' blog?
She is trying to learn to crochet as well.
I love doing crochet. Hope you soon manage to master it! ;-)

My mum knows how to crochet... and she made lovely things that I`m hoping to show on my blog this week.
I can`t wait to see how yours is going to turn out.
I`m sure that it will look W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L!

The crochet looks like it's coming along nicely. I learn't to crochet in May last year and for a time I never thought I would ever make anything worthwhile but I'm so glad I stuck with it!
I actually learnt from YouTube videos (bear in mind most are US and the stitch terminology differs from UK) - I find it much easier to follow a 'live' demo than a manual. My first item was a flower and then a hat .... personally I didn't find granny squares the easiest thing to start with due to the colour changes.
I hope you'll soon love crochet too!

(P.S. My cat loves watching the yarn whilst I'm crocheting and every so often he'll have a little play and I come across wet/chewed sections which is just yuk to work with!)

Hello Sam,
I'm happy to have discovered your blog, don't know how I've not been here before. I see you are battling with the evil/wonder that is crochet. It takes a while to get the hang of, I'm still learning myself. I think I read that you knit and if it's any consolation, all the knitters on my knitting and crochet course find it very difficult to get used to crochet if they are already knitters.

I love your kitty!
