What do you think of a Blog Shop?

for my paintings?

Just had an idea after seeing some of your blog shops...

Wondered if any one would be interested in little paintings framed and little note cards?
Pretty, vintage inspired things... not too expensive?

Any advice or thoughts would be very welcome!

Thankyou!!

And Nighty night!

I love your paintings, and pretty little notecard sets would be lovely. All tied up with a ribbon and matching envelopes. :)

I love the paintings....I would definately want to buy one.

I think etsy shops work nicely, I do not know what the profit is like in them though?

I think although it's 'credit crunch' people are cutting back on certain things but are finding more money to spend on certain things...like this, to make them happy and cheerful. Well I know I am, anyway!

Notecards would be nice, too.

I think it sounds like a great idea!! I've often wondered the same. However, I don't have a single craft I focus on. Can't really sell my real flowers :)

Lovely idea Sam! I think people are always looking for different notecards to send for thank you's and 'quick hello's' ... writing real letters seems to be coming back into fashion! You know how much I love the little picture you did of Silkie Sue & Tom, so I think folks would like small prints too - I especially like the vintage theme idea.

BTW ... thanks for your email about "The Silent Meow" .. I already have it on my bookshelf and it's brilliant!! Great minds think alike!!

What a fab idea, I think if you want to aim for the american and canadian market then Etsy is the one... british people buy of it too I expect but we tend to worry about exchange rates etc... Folksy is the british equivalent.. its fairly new but well used... I am not sure how much they take per listing but I don't think its a lot...

Beautiful watercolous by the way, I can't be that free when I use watercolours, I either over work it or I draw too muc to start with... that is a real talent that people love!

If you haven't already head for vista print they are doing loads of stuff for free at the moment.. notelets, calenders, cards etc..

Those are charming, and I guess they would be easily postable, too (which must be important with a blog shop). It's clearly good to take the advice of the people who are already selling - best of luck with your idea!

I say go for it, your paintings are so pretty! I have a shop on Folksy - they currently charge 20p to list an item but as it is still in beta there is no commission! So it could cost literally pence to set up. I would also suggest looking up similar items to yours to get an idea of how much things sell for.
Good luck!

Go for it Sam... You have a wonderful talent for illustration and very appealing designs.
Do you sell any of your work in Bath?
I shall look out for it.

My Mr Pickles cat also has a passion for prawns and can hear a tin opener from the other side of the street.. I only have to take the tin of tuna out of the cupboard and he is next to me in a shot.. how do they do that!?

I think a blog shop is a great idea!
You asked about the fair - we offer the tables to our "regulars" first & then we have a waiting list as unfortunately table numbers are restricted by the size of the hall.
