My new Obsession...and a request..

I HAVE to learn how to do this...they are the cutest...and as I'm such an animal lover I thought I could make a few little things...

There are some that are truly amazing on the web, so maybe I will try and buy one...but do any of you know much about this needle felting.....

Any links, tips, books, links would be much appreciated!

Happy Thursday!

I don't really know anything about it but fancy giving it a go myself so made some enquire's at our local haberdashery where they do classes.
Apparently, it's very easy!

I've just started playing around with felt but so far it's cupcakes and donuts - all fairly simple things with a bit of padding... these look far more superior than what I'm doing!!

Hi i have always wanted to have a try at felting, the tiny cat on the front of the book looks so so cute. Perhaps you can do a tutorial once you have mastered it!

Lululiz has a post about needlefelting RIGHT NOW! How's that for a coincidence? She had a go and talks about where she bought the needle and what it looks like etc. You can find her blog on my bloglist if you don't know it already.

The little cat in your picture is absolutely wonderful - I can see why you'd want to make her!

I have had this book for a while and made a few items from it. Try the web site 'Woolpets.com' (felted animal kitsby Laurie sharp) to get you started. I have made a cat from them. (some pictures on my blog under craft tag I think!) they are addictive though. I got the eyes from Christie Bears. A site called Blooming felt is good for needles and such but there are so many sites that sell them. Good Luck!

did you get a chance to try needle felting yet? I can send you some progression pics if you like...

if you have a crafting place nearby that sells wools for spinning and stuff like that...they probably carry needle felting supplies ..
don't use the long fibered types of wools as they are pretty difficult to needle in nicely....
I'm off to see if there is an email for you...I can send a few sites where you can find some info....
