Happy Holidays!

Well its nearly here and just wanted to wish those of you who stop by to read my ramblings a very Merry Christmas from me and Mr M and The Sue (Who has been bit naughty lately meowing on our heads at 4am) but thats another story!

I think I have been good and I'm hoping for a 'Cath Kidston' Christmas (If you know what I mean!)

A message bout Mr M

Oh I forgot to mention that it was Mr M that purchased The Sues new Cath Kidston Bed. We are very pleased to see that she uses it (Nothing to do with the £30 squid it cost) or that it is by the radiator in our bedroom....

Also Mr M has been hiding away in his studio doing 'Chrismassy' things - where I have been banned....

Two Sues!

Well look what arrived in the post a couple of days ago...another sue! (Made of Wool!)
All the way from Fuzzy Mittens in Quebec. Her knitting is beautiful faultless....such neat little stiches.
Not sure what the 'real' Sue makes of Wooly Sue - but I think she is lovely!

Well Christmas is on the way - just under a week away. I'm sure it should still be November and I can't believe how quickly Christmas seems to be here again

I have such fond memories of Christmas as a little Sam back in the late 70's early 80's - drinking Snowballs (Only little ones) that my mum made from our mini bar (Yes we had a real mini bar with bar stools and pumps!) and eating prawn cocktails out of green glasses whilst listening to Boney M.

Those where the days.......and I still want to be Jennifer Heart from Heart to Heart....

Tired

Well I'm shattered...by this time at night (10pm) I could fall asleep - (this lovely bedroom would be nice!)
I have so many things racing in my head to do and make - plus its my cake club day this week - and I am rubbish at cakes!

Still my friend Cartwheel has given me a good idea!

Oh and I will as soon as poss load some paintings - just don't have the time at the mo!!

Knitted Kitty!

Do you like knitted Silkie Sue? She has been knitted for me by fuzzy mittens all the way in Canada. It was this ladies blog that inspired me to pick up the needles for my self!

As a little girl I always loved knitted toys,and once apon a time I had a knitted toy cat that has near enough been loved to death...so I couldn't resist adopting a new one!

Especially one that is like my beloved Sue ;0)

Please can you finish me for Christmas?

Hello Bloggers!
Well I just can't stop making stuff! and I have completely fallen in love with knitting!
This little rabbit is nearly finished (I can't take the whole credit as my mum did help with
a few of the stitches I had made up previously!)

Funny thing is, is that I quite like her with no arms and legs!!!!

So maybe if she behaves she can have some for Christmas!!

I love knitting!

Well after about 2 weeks of constant attempts to knit one purl one something came out looking a little like the picture I was looking at. A special thanks to 'fuzzy mittens' an amazing blog I came across a couple of weeks ago inspired me to pick up the needles and have a go. I think there are a few errors but I'm quite pleased with the result....

I think I may be addicted to knitting........oh no!

colouring in

Well it has been 3 years since I discovered blogs and generally being creative again - for many years I had one rubbish job after another and thought that going to art school was a complete waste of time. Any way - through a wonderful opportunity via my Mr M (Who is an illustrator also) I found my self in my dream job as an in house artist for a greeting card publisher...and 3 years later I still love it and I love crafting and making things generally.

I LOVE my job and plus I have really good friends to colour in with too....;0)

So I thought I would be brave and post a pic I painted at home for my bedroom - really quick poppies - not really realistic but I kinda like them plus I love painting flowers.....

Well I know I have shown a picture of my craft room (aka the box room) before - but this is my little
space that I try to do all my crafting and colouring in...It is a little on the small side but its such a warm
snug space - and I can just about curtain twitch with no one watching....

Oh and I'm planning on learning to needle felt - watch this spacexxx

doin a bit of Halloween Crafting....Maybe I can squeeze a bit in this weekend.....

Good Friends and presents

Calming down....

Well after all the excitment and very long to do lists - every thing is calming down..

Lots of plans in my head - lots of crafting and making for the lovely autumn evenings...

Off off and away!

Well bloggers - I'm a married lady now sat here getting ready to go to New York for a week. Trouble is the darling Sue has to go to a cattery (Which she has been to before) but I cry like a baby when I take her (Plus all her blankets cushions etc etc.) I worry she thinks I'm abandoning her - and that she will forget us as she is such a pampered pussy cat.

Oh and the other thing I HATE flying - terrifies me actually - got some sleeping pills from the doctors so i hope that knocks me out. So mean while me and the Sue will sign off - I'll be back to my blogging self in a couple of weeks...

Red Heads....

Well - the wedding is creeping closer and closer (the 20th Sept actually!) so I am doing things to distract myself and I thought I would do a quick post about some famous celebrity red heads - as I am one my self .... um not the celebrity!!

I recently watched an amazing film again called Mrs Miniver - with Greer Garson - absolutely stunning...but I couldn't resist posting photos of the lovely Moira Shearer and Deborah Kerr too - gorgeous!!

Creativeness.....

Sometimes I think I have so many things to do that I have to write big lists down...I truly am happiest at home pottering about and making things. I will post some of my painted pictures - but for now here is a collage for a wedding card and some more cute softies that belong to my chum Ag.....

Wedding Countdown.....

Well its 2 weeks on Saturday when I will be a married lady!! I am very nervous, but excited too ;0) So I am still planning to show to pix of my illustration work, but my evenings consist of wedding crafting at the mo.. so I will leave you a lovely picture of Doris - Miss C hope you like it!!

Oh I had to list this - as I am on the theme of presents - this was given to me by Mr M last Christmas.....3 beautiful watercolours of the adorable Sue.

One of the nicest gifts I have ever had...

Presents!

Well over the last few days I have been lucky enough to get a couple of unexpected presents which I would like to show you.
The first is from Mr M - A bottle of the new Pure Bloom fragrance from Sarah Jessica Parker (Who I love!!) and a lovely trinket box, bracelet and a hand painted card from my dear friend Ag - I am spoilt!!

(Oh and in one of the photos you can see the DVD Bell Book and Candle- with the amazing Kim Novac and Jimmy Stewart)
If you have never seen this film - rent it - its wonderful for a rainy evening -especially if you you love magical films!!

Here is my little crafting room - its the box room really but I love sitting in here and crafting!
Its such a sweet warm little space, where i can potter around with all my odds and ends x

Making things....

Well my crafting adventures really started with making sock and glove toys - which were so instant and easy to make, so I thought I would try something a little bit more advanced. So I purchased a 1970s toy book and made my friend an owl with some vintage fabric - I think he came out quite well!! (Don't look too closely!)
The other little fella is 'Birdi the cat Pillow'....who looks a tad wonky! Poor little chap!

Wedding countdown....

Well Mr M has had his stag doooo I won't go into details as its far too rude for a shabby chic pretty blog - any way use your imagination as he got up to it...and I'm having a sensible 'thing' on saturday. Wedding countdown starts here - one month Saturday....I'm not nervous... really.....

Another subject that I LOVE is the supernatural - ghosts and goulies- spooky things anything and I have just finished the most amazing, funny and down right scary book called will storr vs the supernatural.....it gave me goosebumps..............

Everyone should have a Moley

Hi Bloggers! This little chap is Moley - well not the 'real' one as that one belongs to my friend Miss Cartwheel;0) I came across these sweet little creatures in Asda - they still sell them and are only a few pennies - so you could sneek one in your weekly shop. Its a shame, but since discovering Tescos Shopping on line I don't visit Asda any more!!

Thank Goodness for Home Shopping

Goodness me - I'm tired tonight - swam 30 lengths got home did the housework and the Tesco shopping came - which is a god send. As I work full time the last thing I want to be doing is walking around a supermarket - I'd much rather be at home crafting on my sewing machine.....

Lunch Club

Hi Bloggers - I must tell you all about lunch club.
At work we had a room that resembled the Matrix interview room - no one used. So Miss Cartwheel (My chum) decided to buy some spotty Laura Ashley oil cloth and transformed our boring cold dining room into a shabby chic eatery - well almost but
we all sit in there come 1 o'clock, its rather sweet really - oh and a hello to Mr B - you know who you are;0)

A little about me....

Well what can I say - not sure if anyone in Blog Land are reading my ramblings but hey ho! Well one thing is I am obsessed about is handbags - I just love them - I really love Mulberry and vintage bags, I don't know there is something about putting all your stuff in and taking all your stuff out - I know I'm mad!! But by golly I love bags!!

Don't you just hate Mondays - they are such a non day...and the whole week is ahead of you. I can't complain too much as I get to paint and draw for a livin;0) But its not too bad when you get home and are greeted with a sweet Pussy Cat who just wants to sit on your lap...
