oooo I'm pooped again, but luckily tonight I didn't have to do any extra work. As you may or may not know I have started to work on Childrens Book Illustration in my spare time, as well as the day job...but I'm not complaining, I just wish there were a few more hours in the day, and that my eyes didn't get sooo tired..

Any way Mr M is yelling for me...we are having a Lord of the Rings part 2 evening....

I think I have been blogging for 2 years now.....or there abouts :0)

Since I have been here in blogland reading all these amazing blogs, I've learnt to sew much better than I ever thought I could, taught myself to crochet,...waffled on about my cat, and pushed myself with my Illustration career, so that now I'm actually working on Children's books :0)

Do cats and dogs get on?

I think so Dear Bloggers!...I must explain that I have been an admirer of Danielle's Mohair Toys for ages (this is the link!)...Pussman & Co and I have wanted a Teddy Cat for such a long time!

Danielle very kindly offered to swap with me...and look what arrived last week!...

Isn't she a darling!...I wanted a toy inspired by my Silkiesue...yes mad I know, but I love my cat, and I wanted something to always remind me of her (Don't worry she is very much in the land of the living!!)... (Don't you think she looks like she has stepped out of a childrens book illustration?)

.. and so I have been busy making something to swap back with...

I'm a little nervous, and Danielle's sewing is AMAZING...so I hope she likes this little chap!

As you can see Stanley is rather taken by Miss Silkie above!...She also arrived in the most beautiful cloth bag, and Danielle also included a lovely card..

So here he is...Stanley is made from Mohair, he is stuffed with Kapok and had little glass beads in his tum, and is 5 way jointed!...He is a little different from the original, I had hoped to dye his ears a little darker...but I don't think my dye was strong enough :0(

He will be sent off to Danielle this weekend...hope you like himxxx

Multitasking..

Hey Bloggers..

I'm currently sat at my desk, eating a bowl of stew, at 8.20pm, working away, whilst occasionally stopping to pet Miss Sue, and do odd bits of house work!

Before I forget, I must mention that I received the most beautiful bloggy swap gift...which I haven't been able to mention yet as I am also making something of the furry nature in return..

so keep your eyes peeled toward the end of the week and all will be revealed...

Morning Bloggers!

Up at 6am today - working! Yes I have freelance work to do as well as working full time...no rest for the wicked!

Well I had a lovely time in my home town of Bideford in North Devon... with Ma and Pa..(Just love it here)

There were kittons...(The next doors neighbours...ooo I wanted to steal her!)

Lovely walks - this is 10 seconds from my parents house...can you believe as a teen I hated living here?

A mini raleigh...5 seconds in the park from their house..

The Hamish's are finished...woopppeeeee...and a new Stanley is being worked on!

and Autumn has begun!!!!!!

Here in the uk, its getting really rather Autumally...(Is that a word?) It was rainy and blustery today...and I loved it! Those Halloween movies will be coming out again real soon!!and I've been busy sewing 2 Hamish's at the same time

What I'm up too..

Well as you probably know I work full time, but I love being busy in my own time too..I just can't bear sitting about, so I've been keeping myself very busy...working on lots more children's book samples, as I think shortly I will have to start working on my first real picture book project..so Big Dog is just another new idea for now...

I have been using my lovely new bag all the time..yes I'm a bag/madcat lady..

As you can see I carry LOTS of stuff..

I now call my box room home..and spend most of my time here...

Ah see what I mean ...more bags that I have been carrying about..

There has been more mohair dying..thanks Mr M, yes the husbands been helping..

as I am making 2 Hamish's at the same time..

Sewing whenever I can, even in poor light!

Phew...but I love being busy, really I do..I wouldn't have it any other way :0)

A bit of good news..

If you stop by here you probably know I do a spot of 'colouring in' for my job. I work full time as a greeting card artist, and in my own time, I sew, and work on my own children's picture book ideas....and boy did I have a spot of good news yesterday that I'm still in shock about.

After my agent spotted one of my illustrations, she set me up with a writer, who turned my pictures into a proper children's story..... so I worked on more illustrations, and plotted out a full dummy book then I forgot all about it.

Until yesterday, when I received a call....to say that my book idea, is going to be published!!

So at the mo, I still can't believe it...I'm sat here now while Mr M is STILL working away..with Miss Sue on my lap...

AND my new bag came today!

there were many a gasp at work today when I had it on display...THANKYOU lovely Raquel...

Wow this lady can sew alright!!

So you can see I'm really busy, but to be honest with you I love illustrating cute pictures....

I never have days like these normally!

Oh I wasn't gonna have a glass of wine....oh GO ON then :0)

Wheres the week gone?

Hi Bloggers, just a little quicky but I'm back...I seem to have been rushing about this week, with no time to blog, or with anything of any interest to photograph!

Well last week wooshed by, I also felt as if I was getting the flu, my neck swelled up and I felt all shivery and shaky for a couple of days..but after drinking a truck load of orange juice I feel back to my normal self!

I have been busy working on more children's book samples, cutting out and preparing 2 new Hamish Beardogs, working full time, and in the middle of it all we had a burst waterpipe under our floor boards in the the living room!

Phew!

But I'm back, and hopefully I will have some more interesting things to show you!

ooo lots to do...

First off...I hate the hairdressers, I love the relaxing feeling of having my hair brushed and washed but I'm always terrified of the cutting bit..and I was starting to feel like the Junk Lady from Labyrinth... warning SCAREY PIC COMING UP....

any way..I thought to myself, hey there must be a tutorial about how to trim long hair yourself..

and then I found this link...and took the plunge...
